ECDC

ECDC is based on the first genome database designed for a single organism, worldwide. Thus our collection offers a direct access to all EMBL - even the oldest tRNA - entries regarding E.coli K12. The collection was provisionally closed together with the first completion of the genomic sequence. The next major update will be available as soon as the E.coli community aggrees to just one DNA sequence, which is announced for in spring 2003. ECDC is searchable in different ways: by gene name, sequence map position (traditional min map), by scrolling different tables and by a provisional keyword search. Several tools help to edit any DNA sequence. A number of links within the individual entries point to other databases, like Swissprot or Brookhaven PDB databank.
